Simplified characters, or the complex form ?
The UN decided to use simplified characters of Chinese only, which will be the unique criterion among Chinese speakers while some thought that the criterion would lead to a disruption of Chinese culture.
Truly speaking, the set of the criterion version of Chinese character may be a good decision for most people. The complex form is both hard to read and write sometimes. Some words are very similar, too. And there're a great many Chinese speakers don't know most of the complex form.Nowadays, our life is at a high speed and writing the original complex form will cost us more time than the simplified characters.
Despite of these disadvantages, the complex form of Chinese characters is a valuable treasure to our Chinese culture. It reminds us of the outstanding history in the past. It shows us the old Chineses' characters: hard working, intelligent, honest, and the wonderful ability for imagination. Most of the characters suggest the meaning of it vividly.
Both versions of Chinese characters, simplified character, and the original complex form, each has their advantages and disadvantages. Maybe we mustn't rule out either of them, as they're treasures to us, and to Chinese culture.
